UPC UPC ecoRacing unveiled the first four-wheel drive electric vehicle entirely designed and manufactured in Spain the last June, to compete in the Formula Student, the most prestigious competition for engineering students.
The team had been developing the new single-seater which features a complete carbon fibre monocoque chassis, four in-wheel electric motors with a total of 188 bhp and a full aerodynamic package, which includes a Drag Reduction System actuated by two HobbyKing™ Mi Digital High Torque Servo HV. Additionally, the low voltage battery used for the safety and control electronics is also courtesy of HobbyKing, offering an optimum weight versus energy storage ratio suiting perfectly the needs of the team.
The ecoRX made its competitive debut in the Formula Student Spain, celebrated at the famous Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where several international competitions like the Formula 1 or
